Sorry, Tennis Friends! We Got Hacked!

Fitness For Tennis – We Got Hacked!

Fitness For Tennis

On Tuesday, I discovered that Fitness For Tennis had been hacked.  Some lame person (or computer) inserted a malware script onto the site.

How did I find out?  I got an email from Google saying that our site was compromised.

Was I mad?  Not really.  Rather I was disappointed.

Fitness For Tennis – We’re Back Up

Our site went back online last night, which felt really good.

This situation reminds me of playing a match against someone who cheats on the line calls.

You have a choice…you can:

  1. Get mad.
  2. Or stay calm and focused.

When I was younger I always got mad…cuz I didn’t understand I had a choice.  Now, I get calm and focused.

Fitness For Tennis – The Take Away

When you get mad, you give your power or energy to your opponent (or in this case the “hacker”).

So next time you face a cheater on the court, make a conscious decision to remain calm and focused.  Show them that they do not control the outcome of the match; you do!

PS – Please note that none of our customers info was compromised.  We use CLICKBANK, a third party shopping cart and processor.  We do not store any customer data on our site…just for this reason!  :)

Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA: health benefits throughout life.

Source

Pharmaceutical Research Institute, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Rensselaer, NY, USA.

Abstract

Omega-3 [(n-3)] fatty acids have been linked to healthy aging throughout life. Recently, fish-derived omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA have been associated with fetal development, cardiovascular function, and Alzheimer’s disease. However, because our bodies do not efficiently produce some omega-3 fatty acids from marine sources, it is necessary to obtain adequate amounts through fish and fish-oil products. Studies have shown that EPA and DHA are important for proper fetal development, including neuronal, retinal, and immune function. EPA and DHA may affect many aspects of cardiovascular function including inflammation, peripheral artery disease, major coronary events, and anticoagulation. EPA and DHA have been linked to promising results in prevention, weight management, and cognitive function in those with very mild Alzheimer’s disease.

Tennis Drills To Get Your Heart Pumping

Tennis Drills For Tennis Success

My buddy and I love our summer tennis drills.  We can groove our strokes, hit a lot of balls, and get a great workout.

tennis drills

Category: Overheads
Submitted by: Brandon K.

Drill Description: Player A starts at the net. Player B,  the ball-feeder, stands on the baseline. Player A touches the net with his racket signaling Player B to feed him an overhead. Player A then shuffles back into position to hit the overhead.

After he hits the overhead, he runs up and touches the net with his racket. When he does this, the person on the baseline feeds him another overhead. Repeat this until ten overheads have been hit. Switch and have the person who was feeding balls now hit overheads. Repeat drill three times or more if necessary.

This is a good drill to work on moving back for your overheads and to work on the scissor-kick jump that is necessary to jump for some overheads.

Tennis Training Program Testimonial

tennis training

On Tuesday, I received an email from one our customers.  I feel very grateful because I am helping tennis enthusiasts improve their game with this tennis training program.  Our goal is to help 25,000 tennis players improve 1 NTRP level!

I have played tennis my entire adult life but I could never win tournaments. While my game has improved throughout the years thanks to the combination of practice and USTA endorsed stroke training drills, my game lacked an important quality. This past weekend, I won my first tournament and I credit it to the training found in the Fitness for Tennis program.

Fitness and stamina is a key attribute for a tennis player. The Fitness for Tennis training program provided me with drills that focused on my weakest areas. Speed and quickness are emphasized throughout and incorporated through interval and plyometric training. The drills were great since they combined elements of aerobic and anaerobic conditioning and gave me a strength workout in addition to cardio.

I was able to adapt the 60 day program to my work schedule and perform it at my own pace. This was perfect for a tennis player like me who is pushing 50 years in age. While I may not reach a drop shot the way Rafael Nadal does, I am proud to say that I was able to reach a few in my tournament victory and I surprised my opponent when I returned it over his head to the baseline.

The program’s structured training was beneficial. The workout calendar motivated me to not miss any training days. The nutritional guide included in the program also played a large role in my increased fitness level. I had never really considered that a diet change would be just as important as increased time spent on the court.

The program gave me the championship that has long eluded me.

Tennis Drills – Point Construction

Tennis Drills – What Do You Do Best?

Do you find that you hit the ball without having a specific strategy?  Here is something to think about…

In this video, Paul Annacone how to construct a point.  You should incorporate tennis drills like these into your tennis training.  When you construct a point, you should be figuring out ways to exploit your opponets weaknesses and emphasize your strenghts.

Here is how I construct my points:  I will try to use heavy topspin cross court groundstrokes until my opponet hits me a short ball.  When I get a short ball I will hit an approach shot and attack the net.

+++++

For those of you who don't know Paul Annocone…  Paul was #12 in the world in 1985.  In addition, he has coached Pete Sampras and Roger Federer.  He knows his tennis. :-)
